Nelson Mandela Day “Plate of Hope” Project
In response to recognising Mandela’s “values and his dedication to the service of humanity” and acknowledging his contribution “to the struggle for democracy internationally and the promotion of a culture of peace throughout the world”, HCC embarked on a community upliftment project on 18th July 2017 namely, “Plate of Hope”.
“Plate of Hope” an initiative to instil the gift of hope to a child. In collaboration with Tin-Pac Promotional Packaging, we visited the Adventure Kids Club in Maitland and had an engaging and inspiring programme with 30 of their children between the ages of 5 and 16. This was followed by a visit to Blikkiesdorp, Delft (in collaboration with Molo Songololo and Tin-Pac), where we shared the message of hope to 30 young girls between the ages of 11 and 18.
